Midleton traces its story at the site in County Cork to 1825, when the distillery was acquired by the Murphy family, later becoming part of the Cork Distilleries Company. In 1975 the new Midleton Distillery opened beside the old site, bringing Irish whiskey production from Dublin to Cork.
