Peated Whisky

Peated Scotch whisky is made from malted barley that has been dried over a peat fire. This process infuses the whisky with its distinctive smoky character, and rich earthy notes that are often described as medicinal. The level of peatiness is sometimes expressed in PPM (phenol parts per million), and can vary from delicate to bold and uncompromising.
